Kaviqsaaq  Kennels was established in 1995 with the purchase of my first Alaskan Malamute Shuyak Kilik Nipatu WPD (Keanu) R.I.P a red/white male. I then bought my second malamute, a grey/white girl, CH Shuyak Quya Isignaq WPD (Jade) R.I.P. Then came a black/white girl Nakuyah Eboni N Ivory (Eboni) R.I.P. I've bred five Alaskan Malamutes myself, Ch Kaviqsaaq Velvet Cloud (Krystal) R.I.P, Kaviqsaaq Might N Power (Tyson) R.I.P both from my girl Jade, then came  Ch Kaviqsaaq Just Joking (Deezel), BIS, R/up BIS CH Kaviqsaaq Matrix Hunter (Devil) and CH Kaviqsaaq Naughty Girl (Piper) from Krystal. In 2009 saw the start towards a new direction with the addition of Chekody Ilike Tway Umove (April) from Mel and Mark at Chekody Alaskan Malamutes. 

We are also the home of back to back Adelaide Royal brace class winners. Winning in 2007 and 2008 with Devil and Piper. 

In Inuit Indian Kaviqsaaq stands for "Something Red" which is dedicated to Keanu as he was not only my first malamute but he was also a red. Kaviqsaaq is a small kennel situated in the Victor Harbor area, South Australia. We are a small kennel breeding for type temperment and quality not quantity. I am mainly involved in confirmation showing, but I have also done some backpacking with my dogs in the past.
